Cookies

This section explains what cookies are, how Gatekeeper use them and how You can exercise Your choices about them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on Your computer, laptop or device by websites that You visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the website.

Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Gatekeeper use persistent cookies and session cookies on the Add In.

A persistent cookie is stored on a user’s device in between browser sessions which allows the preferences or actions of a user across a website (or in some cases across different websites) to be remembered. Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of purposes including remembering preferences and choices when using a website. For example, Gatekeeper use persistent cookies to save Your login information for future logins to the Add In.

A session cookie allows a website to link Your actions during a browser session. Session cookies are used for a variety of purposes such as remembering data You have entered into forms that You have not submitted. Gatekeeper use session cookies to enable certain features of the Add In, to better understand how You interact with the Add In and to monitor aggregate usage by users and web traffic routing on the Add In. Unlike persistent cookies, session cookies are deleted from Your computer when You log off from a website and then close Your browser.
